A Little About Me

Howdy and hello! My name is Kathryn Holeton, and I am a character designer for musicians (brand designer for musicians) based in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am passionate about music and about having fun. I am a character designer for musicians because I love helping musicians find alternative ways of standing out other than just social media.

I got my start in the music industry as a musician, but I found that as I collaborated with others, I was helping them create their brand as well as making music. As I learned more about brand design, the more I realized how important it was for a musician to have a brand. Today, I still make music on occasion, but I primarily help musicians create brands.

I also love to play role-playing games. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends for years, and that inspired me to make branding more fun instead of tedious. Your brand is basically a character you play in any business setting. I’m not saying you need to act “out of character,” or inauthentically. I’m just saying you are a player in music business.

In your story, you are the hero, and social media is the villain, or the winged demon devouring villages that needs to be defeated through creative means. As the hero, you need a guide to help you as you level up your skills. You also need to continually upgrade your armor and equipment, so that when you face that winged demon, you will win and be victorious.

My mission is to help you get the necessary upgrades and level ups so that you will have the best fighting chance against the social media algorithms. I’m grateful for every chance I get to learn more about you, your music, and your needs, because every story will need a unique touch.

My Background

I have always lived in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2021, I graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional and Technical Communication. Last year, I also received a Digital Marketing Certification from Google.

I am a coffee addict, Webtoon consumer, book hoarder, and board gamer with a love for role-playing games like Magic the gathering and Dungeons and Dragons.

I am also deeply passionate about writing. My poetry has been published in 40 different literary magazines, and I have a self-published poetry book. I especially love writing Japanese style poetry, like haiku and senryu.

Poetry

I love music as well. My favorite genres range from acoustic, pop, electronic pop, dark pop, rock, metal, death metal, and most recently, J and K- Pop. I have made rock and acoustic style music with collaborators. I love all kinds of art, and I love being creative. I am always working on something creative because that is my version of stress relief. You can hear the music I've collaborated with by clicking the link below.
