Pazzo

Pazzo is a nostalgic rock band base in Chicago, Illinois. They were preparing to release their EP, "Crooked Chair," and needed a brand set up to support the release of their new music and to start building an email list for a future newsletter. They wanted their visual identity to look like a spooky 90's gothic vibe.

I began work on their brand with some research into what other similar bands were doing in their sphere of influence. I found that most similar bands in their sphere didn't have a consistent visual identity, so I had free reign on design choices. Pazzo's professional photos were sleek and modern, yet rebellious, almost regal. I decided that for the design of their electronic press kit and website, I would emulate that feel throughout.

For their electronic press kit, I positioned their black and white picture as the center piece of the document, with their logo, social and contact on the photo. I then listed their other information under their photo with black and white icons. I decided to keep the design of their electronic press kit simple and sleek, just black and white.

For Pazzo's website, I kept the color scheme the same as their electronic press kit, except I added a red that was a mix between burgundy and cherry. I added the red into the menu and headers on their website to add visual contrast. I wanted their website to reflect their music's nostalgic vibe, so I made their menu look like notary labels. The fonts I picked for Pazzo also help with the nostalgic feel. I went with a Courier as the body text, and Impact as their header.

Pazzo's site is one of my favorite designs. It feels like old school Rock N' Roll with a modern edge. They were also very excited about the site, and love it to this day. Since the release of their EP and website, their email list has grown by 100%, and I couldn't be happier for them. I can't wait to hear more of their music and see what else they do.
